What an amazing day for Wyatt Power and his Dad! Last year (2009) in December, Wyatt Power got a gift that most grown men would have on their own Birthday list. Wyatt turned 10 years old (you know, the big double digits) and the lucky boy has a super cool Dad in the firearms industry. Wyatt's Dad, David Power, and his pals at Sabre Defence built out a custom 6.5 Grendel to fit Wyatt. The rifle came complete with a short ACE stock, tubular handguard, and a 14.5" barrel with extended A2 flash hider permanently attached to make it legal and hand loaded ammo that regularly shot under 1/2" groups. Well, the story gets even better. November 13, 2010, the 6.5 Grendel and Wyatt got to test their gut in a battle of young versus old. At 6:08 am, Wyatt took this massive 15 point buck at 50 yards, by the way, His FIRST DEER! The 6.5 Grendel did its part by devastating the heart and lungs of this trophy. Perfect shot, perfect rifle, what a day that will live in Wyatt and his Dad’s memories (and wall) forever.
