1 review for 6.5 Grendel 129g Hornady® SST® Loaded Ammunition

  1. Lawrence L Holman

I finally received my Ammo after 18 months and I pulled it out to inspect it and noticed every one of the cases had dark spots on them. The only thing I can think of is those spots came from being stored to long in a uncontrolled environment do to the temperature changing through the seasons. I’m sure this ammo is old stock. I guess I’ll find out if it still performs properly or not. At this time, I cannot say if it is worth the price I paid for it. Other than that, they all measure out to being 2.25 OAL, the tips seem to be solid, every one of them are factory crimped, All the tips are set within .002″ of each other. Now all I have to do is get out to the range and test them out to see how well my Grendel likes them.
PS; Will update if possible after a test fire.

Hey Mr. Holman! Thank you for the review. The spots you are seeing are simply discolorations in the brass and have no impact on the effectiveness of round itself. The rounds you received are from a very recent run of the 129s, these spots are due to the brass sitting for a little bit while we were waiting to receive the projectiles. Normally any brass with spotting would be put to the side for test ammo or bulk “blemished ammo” sales. However since these blemishes are only aesthetic and due to the long wait time on this ammo we decided to not hold any back to fill as many orders as possible.
